Oscillatory flow of blood in a stenosed artery.

چکیده
The oscillatory flow of blood through a stenosed artery is investigated in this paper in presence of magnetic field. The laminar, incompressible, fully developed, Newtonian flow of blood in an artery having mild stenosis is numerically studied under the action of transverse magnetic field and the numerical results are obtained for the oscillatory flow of blood using Shooting method. It is assumed that the surface roughness is cosineshaped and the maximum height of the roughness is very small compared with the radius of the unconstricted tube. Numerical solutions are obtained for the flow velocity, flow rate, wall shear stress and impedance. The results are shown graphically. It is observed that fluid velocity decreases for the increase in the values of the Hartmann number as well as the frequency parameter while increases for the increasing in the values of the Reynolds number. Volumetric flow rate and wall shear stress increase with increase in the values of the Reynolds number and decrease with the increasing values of the Hartmann number. The effect of the frequency parameter on impedance to the flow is discussed graphically and observed that it enhance the impedance.

Oscillatory MHD Flow of Blood through an Artery with Mild Stenosis (RESEARCH NOTE)
The purpose of this work is to study the effect of oscillatory MHD blood flow in stenosed artery. The analytical and numerical results are obtained for oscillatory MHD blood flow, which is assumed to be a Newtonian fluid. It was also assumed that the surface roughness is of cosine shaped and the maximum height of roughness is negligible, compared with the radius of un-constricted tube. The flui...

Blood flow is modeled as non-Newtonian micropolar fluid. The non-linear governing equations of continuum and momentum in the cylindrical coordinate are being discretized using a finite difference approach and have been solved iteratively ,through Crank-Nicolson method. The blood velocity distribution, volumetric flow rate and Resistance to blood flow at the stenosis throat are computed for vari...

In the present study, the nonlinear model of non-Newtonian blood flow in cosine-shape stenosed elastic artery is numerically examined. The model is carried out for axisymmetric, two-dimensional and fully developed blood flow. The vessel wall is assumed to be have time-dependent radius that is important factor for study of blood flow. The cosine-shape stenosis convert to rigid artery by using a ...
